it takes courage to grow up

i've decided to share some of my favorite quotes that i find helpful and essential to keep me grounded in the very basic simplicities of life. my blood is warm tonight; warmer than usual. not quite sure why. i must say, i really do resent the feeling of uncertainty - with a passion! lucky for me though there is one thing that i am absolutely certain about: i will never give up on someone i care about. no, wait. scratch that. someone i love so much. there are quite a few darling angels in my life that are hurting right now. personal trials have served them with a "hard knock" subpoena SMACK DAB into the courtroom i like to call life. if i felt it appropriate, i would say to some: i will always fight for you. i will always be your attorney. i will always defend you. however: sometimes, we have to let the ones we love figure things out for themselves. watching them suffer is never easy. i will always make sure that the comfort of safety & loyalty is never far; standing on the sidelines in complete silence until asked to do more. this is difficult for me as a person because i always want to fix the problem for others. make everything better and make it all go away. but, how can i ever expect the people i love to  F  L  Y  if i don't allow them to fall on their own time? watching them grow though. now THAT is something green paper could NEVER put a price on.
"if we listened to our intellect, we'd never have a love affair. we'd never have a friendship. we'd never go into business, because we'd be too cynical. well, that's nonsense. you've got to jump off cliffs all the time and build your wings on the way down."
"don’t ask what the world needs. ask what makes you come alive, and go do it, because what the world needs is people who have come alive."
"how does one become a butterfly? you must want to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar."
"remember that everyone you meet is afraid of something, loves something, and has lost something."
"falling down is how we grow. staying down is how we die."
anyone that knows me KNOWS that my entire adult life i have been obsessed with wings, the thought of taking off and flying from a broken wing, humming birds: you name it. everything about it screams: freedom, independence, and even "i am woman. hear me roar". ironically though; i am deathly afraid of heights & airplanes. yes, i know what i have to do next. get on a damn plane, and jump out of it.
on a lighter note i wanted to share in closing a few funky-fresh words + their meanings. my brain has been greatly excercised this past week by some very quirky (as well as disgusting) vocabulary. i will not be sharing the disturbing/disgusting ones with you today. here's some homework: if you want em' that bad then go dig for them yourself...pervert ;) i think everyone can relate to most, if not all, of the terms below. i've highlighted my winners for the week!
frape: short for "facebook rape". this is when someone changes someone elses status without them knowing. also when someone's account is hacked, or left logged on and someone edits their information such as status, etc.
rehab sunglasses: sunglasses worn inside
rage post: when a facebook, myspace or twitter user is mad and makes a status out of complete rage and no one gets it or even notices it
barside mannerthe manner or conduct of a bartender when waiting on customers
death nap: to take a nap for at least four hours during the day, usually followed by a night of debauchery where no outside stimulus is able to wake you up
health care: something i can't afford
weekend wormhole: distortion of space and time between five pm on friday and eight am on monday, causing one the feeling that there was, in fact, no weekend at all
man: someone who is obsessed with women making them sandwiches
